Shin-chan’s New Adventure Takes Him to India in the Upcoming Movie
Crayon Shin-chan fans, get ready for an exciting journey! The beloved mischievous character is heading to India in his next movie, bringing his unique humor and antics to a whole new setting. The 33rd film in the Shin-chan series, titled “Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Hot! The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers”, is set to hit Japanese theaters on August 8, 2025 — and the trailer already has fans buzzing with excitement.
The first trailer offers a colorful and playful representation of India through Shin-chan’s eyes. From traditional kurtas to lively Bollywood-style dance sequences, the film captures the essence of India in true Shin-chan fashion. This movie brings a fresh theme to the Shin-chan universe — dance! The story is set in the fictional Indian city of Mushibai, located in the made-up state of Higashimiru. As part of a cultural exchange, Mushibai becomes a sister city to Kasukabe, Shin-chan’s hometown. To celebrate the partnership, an entertainment festival is organized, with the winning team getting the chance to visit India.
Shin-chan and his Kasukabe Defense Force friends team up to compete, hoping to make their dream trip to India a reality. But the adventure takes a wild turn when Bo-chan, Shin-chan’s quiet, runny-nosed friend, buys a mysterious rucksack shaped like a nose from a souvenir shop. Inside the bag lies a strange tissue paper that causes unexpected changes in Bo-chan, turning him into a powerful “tyrant” with destructive abilities.
Now, it’s up to Shin-chan and the gang to stop their friend’s transformation and bring him back to normal — all while exploring the vibrant sights and sounds of India.
The production team went the extra mile to make this film authentic. Director Masakazu Hashimoto revealed that the script and art teams traveled to India for location scouting. They experienced India’s ultra-spicy cuisine and the scorching sun, using their real-life experiences to shape the movie’s visuals and storyline.
“This film is unlike any Crayon Shin-chan movie before, yet it’s also the most Shin-chan-esque one ever!” said Hashimoto. “It’s packed with entertainment like never before.”
