The Transformers film series, based on the popular franchise of the 1980s, has captured the hearts of audiences with its science fiction action and spectacular visual effects. Despite critical reception, the franchise has been a commercial success, ranking as the 14th-highest-grossing film series with a total box office revenue of $4.8 billion. Notably, Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction each crossed the $1 billion mark in global box office earnings.
The visual effects in the Transformers series are a crucial component of bringing the giant transforming robots to life. The VFX work for the films involves prominent studios such as MPC (Moving Picture Company) and Weta FX. Carlos Caballero Valdés and Axel Bonami serve as VFX Supervisors from MPC, while Weta FX contributes to the visual effects work as well.
Overseeing the entire visual effects production is Gary Brozenich, who holds the position of Production VFX Supervisor.
